Job Title: Finance Operations Specialist

As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial services and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager - Budget, Financial Services, Corporate Services and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

  • Undertake and oversee financial management activities including SAP system activities, cost centre/internal order creation and hierarchy maintenance, delegations and vendor/customer table maintenance, financial performance reporting, and budget variance analysis.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures relating to financial reporting and SAP systems maintenance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Financial Management intranet page and resources to facilitate and support financial management within the department.
  • Provide high-quality and well-researched advice, interpretation, and feedback to senior managers, colleagues, employees, clients, and stakeholders on a broad range of financial management activities with a strong focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have advanced computer skills and experience in financial systems and software applications, particularly SAP ECC and Microsoft Excel. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult, liaise, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will also be required to ensure that financial controls systems are in place, operating effectively, and regularly monitored and tested.

They will also be responsible for identifying, analysing, developing, implementing, and evaluating complex financial issues, strategies, policies, and procedures, and develop options establishing a course of action.
