Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Development Worker to join our team. As a key member of our wellbeing and AOD support service, you will provide high-quality education and support to young people in need.

Responsibilities:

">
  • ">
  • Deliver comprehensive alcohol and other drug education services to young people accessing the service">
  • Provide quality education and support to young people and the wider team in relation to wellbeing, alcohol and other drug use">
  • Build and maintain professional networks in the youth and homelessness support sector">
  • Facilitate referrals and coordinate development programs with a focus on harm minimisation and promoting mental health and wellbeing">
  • Offer informal counselling and support approaches">

Qualifications and Skills:

">

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Diploma level qualification in Human Services, combined with significant skills and experience in youth work, or a tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or related behavioural science discipline.

You must also demonstrate:

  • ">
  • Case management and assessment skills">
  • The ability to work with young people from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities, including Aboriginal & CaLD backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBTI">
  • Up-to-date knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including alcohol and other drugs, education, training and employment">
  • Understanding of youth housing and accommodation systems">
  • A strong person-centred, trauma-informed and strength-based practice ethos">

Benefits:

This is a full-time position with a contract ending August 2025. The salary is competitive, starting at $86,950.50 plus 12% super and salary packaging options are available.
