Job Title: Payroll Reconciliation Specialist

Job Summary:

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing garnishments, handling uncashed payroll checks, and performing monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Garnishment Processing & Compliance: Manage court-ordered wage garnishments, ensure accurate deductions and remittance to agencies, respond to inquiries, analyze audit output, and drive improvements in garnishment processes.
  • Uncashed Payroll Checks Management: Track and reconcile uncashed checks, ensure escheatment compliance, communicate with employees, coordinate with finance and state agencies for reporting and remittance.
  • Monthly Payroll Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll tax accounts monthly for accurate reporting, resolve discrepancies between payroll records and tax filings, support quarterly/annual filings (941, W-2, state reports), liaise with tax authorities and payroll providers on issues.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all payroll tax and garnishment laws, maintain records, identify and implement process improvements and automation, provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, collaborate cross-functionally for accurate financial processing.
