The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Safety Assurance Officer to join our team within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and reporting on continuing airworthiness oversight and enforcement activities.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within Defence and commercial organisations.
  2. Identify and address relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to ensure effective safety outcomes.
  3. Contribute to the ongoing self-improvement and professional development of aviation continuing airworthiness assurance.
About our Team

You will be working as part of a small team within the DCA Continuing Airworthiness Assurance section, responsible for managing allocated approved organisations and aviation platforms in their continued compliance to the DASRs.

This involves:

  1. Providing technical advice and guidance to the aviation safety community.
  2. Developing and delivering education programs on the DASRs.
  3. Conducting formal reviews of organisation products and making recommendations for approval.
  4. Performing routine oversight and enforcement of organisations, which will require travel for onsite visits.

The ideal candidate will have a record of accomplishment of effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to anticipate and respond to their needs.

  1. Have a strong understanding of aviation design and maintenance.
  2. Be able to engage and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
