As a specialist in Master of Social Work (Qualifying), you will play a key role in shaping the program's ongoing development, improvement, and delivery. This involves ensuring compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework while providing a high-quality student-centric experience.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in mapping units delivered within the program, staying up-to-date with current and emerging principles and best practices. Working from home during non-teaching hours is an option for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct face-to-face teaching sessions, student engagement activities, and learning materials.
  • Develop study guides, webinars, and assessment instructions for assigned subjects.
  • Provide study assistance to students through various modes, including face-to-face, online, phone, or email support.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in their studies.
  • Assess student work according to established policies and moderation guidelines.
  • Identify and support students at risk, developing individualized learning plans as needed.
  • Maintain subject sites on the Learning Management System
Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Social Work or a Master's degree in Social Work with 5 years of teaching experience.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Proven experience in developing tertiary subject curricula and teaching materials.
  • Ability to coordinate and administer successful delivery of tertiary subjects.
  • High professional and ethical standards, resilience, and a collaborative approach to teaching and industry engagement.
  • Strong understanding of social work theory and practice.
  • Membership eligibility with the AASW.
