Psychology Educator Opportunity at University of Canberra College

Are you a passionate educator with a background in psychology? We are seeking dedicated casual teachers to join our Diploma of Health teaching team at the University of Canberra College. As a Psychology Educator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in psychology units and contributing to our supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver face-to-face, online, and hybrid teaching in lectures, workshops, tutorials, online learning activities, discussion forums, quizzes, and online submission of assessments.
• Consultation with students as needed.
• Follow up and report non-attenders and students at risk of failing a unit/subject.
• Marking of exams and assessments when required, entering grades on the relevant systems, and providing constructive and detailed feedback to students.
• Monitor Canvas activities.
• Record keeping, maintaining grade book in Canvas, and accurate attendance in Canvas for student monitoring purposes.
• Supervision of assessment activities, including topic tests.
• Attend moderation meetings when required.
• Attendance at College staff meetings as required.
• General administration associated with the activity undertaken.
• Other tasks relating to the role as required.
Essential Selection Criteria:
• A minimum of an Honours Degree or equivalent in Psychology with demonstrated extensive experience in an education setting and industry. A PhD or working towards a PhD in Psychology is preferred.
• Demonstrated high-level communication skills and the ability to work with a small team of teachers.
• Experience in working with students of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness.
• Demonstrated skills in electronic information management.
• Must hold a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or show evidence of an application for registration prior to commencement.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to principles of equity and health and safety in the workplace.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 AUD, based on the national average salary for similar positions in Australia.
