Academic English Instructor Opportunity at University of Canberra College

This is an onsite teaching position based at our University of Canberra campus in Australia. As a casual role, the working hours and patterns may vary weekly. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia, as this position does not offer sponsorship for visas.
The successful candidate will teach Academic English 4 Level (IELTS 6.0-7.0) classes and may also be required to teach across various levels of our ELICOS programs. Teaching responsibilities will primarily involve international student cohorts and, on occasion, a mix of domestic and international students. The focus will be on developing comprehensive English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, and research abilities.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality English language teaching to students of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Utilise a variety of methodologies, resources, and technologies to create engaging learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of ELICOS program curriculum.
- Hold a recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language, such as CELTA, DELTA or a tertiary TESOL qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in ELICOS programs and utilise electronic information management systems like Moodle and Canvas.
- Must hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or show evidence of an application prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of equity and health and safety in the workplace.
