GIS Application Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a GIS Application Support Specialist. This role will provide technical application support, ensuring that client interactions deliver a user experience aligned with our vision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing incident management, problem management and change management processes in line with the ITIL best practice service delivery framework to resolve technical issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform incident management, problem management and change management processes to resolve technical issues.
  • Understand client business needs and specific requirements, and monitor, operate and optimise their GIS Solutions.
  • Help clients create value by identifying, understanding, and articulating solutions for issues using relevant technical expertise including ArcGIS Enterprise and other related ArcGIS technologies.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of the client environment, supported customisations and common issues, ensuring documentation is accurate and high quality.
  • Support the post‑incident review process, identifying root causes and fixes/preventions for high priority incidents.
  • Provide rostered on‑call support as requested. Work outside normal office hours as needed to complete system maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Solid Level 2 IT support background, including experience managing servers, troubleshooting issues, systems monitoring and basic networking knowledge.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience using geospatial technologies, in particular ArcGIS for Enterprise and related ArcGIS technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience using AWS or Azure is desirable.
  • Knowledge and skills in geodatabases and RDS instances are desirable.
  • You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
