Drill Rig Operator Position

We are seeking skilled drill operators for permanent positions at our QCoal Northern Hub Project in Central Queensland. This project is located about 200 kilometres northwest of Mackay and 6km south of Collinsville.

Working a 7 on and 7 off roster and adhering to safety standards and operational procedures, you will:

  • Verify the quality and depth of drill holes and record ground conditions that may affect blasting;
  • Maintain a clean and tidy drill rig and report any maintenance faults;
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards reliable drill metres, rig utilisation, and consumables usage;
  • Provide neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports and pre-starts checks;
  • Participate actively in regular safety assessments;
  • Be willing to be trained across various drill rigs in the fleet and show an adaptable attitude.

You will work as part of a team, contribute to delivering project goals and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

What You Need To Know
  • A minimum of 12 months drilling experience in the mining industry with verified machinery skills list (Signed Training Transcripts);
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to work reliably as part of a team;
  • Current Standard 11 or willingness to obtain it, along with a current driver's license;
  • A commitment to a positive safety culture;
  • Alignment to principles: Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Delivery;
  • Experience with rotary or top hammer drills is advantageous.
