Community Development Leader

We are seeking a skilled Community Development Leader to play a key role in identifying and responding to community priorities, needs, and aspirations. This position empowers individuals and groups to build and sustain connected, healthy, and inclusive communities where people feel supported and can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic partnerships and champion asset-based approaches to strengthen community capacity and resilience.
  • Cultivate relationships with senior community representatives and government stakeholders to ensure our work reflects the evolving needs of our community.
  • Develop and implement community development projects within a local government or similar context.
  • Apply community development theory and practice, including asset-based approaches.
  • Presentation skills are essential for communicating project outcomes and strategies to executive leaders and community stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a leadership and community development position.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic partnerships and influence decisions on community-related action plans and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading community development partnership projects within a local government or similar context.
  • Expertise in community development theory and practice, including asset-based approaches.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • A high-level understanding of government structures and community engagement frameworks.
