
Content and Communications Lead

To support this vision, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Content and Communications Lead to lead Canterbury's brand voice, content direction, and messaging across all channels. This role drives enrolments, engagement, and reputation by leading strategic, audience-focused communications. It oversees content planning and production across print and digital platforms, manages workflow in Monday.com, and supports staff in developing high-quality written content.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain Canterbury College's tone of voice and key messaging frameworks.
- Write and edit longform content for publications, speeches, digital platforms, and campaigns.
- Support staff by reviewing and refining written content to align with College standards.
- Shape storytelling and messaging across print, digital, social, and video channels.
- Oversee creative direction and collaborate with the Senior Designer for cohesive content.
- Manage content workflow in Monday.com, tracking task progress and project timelines.
- Assist in campaign planning and execution alongside the Director of Communications.
- Create media releases and event communications, supporting media engagement efforts.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of College publications and major event communications.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students, and alumni to identify and develop meaningful stories that reflect the Canterbury experience.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated strength in longform copywriting and editorial planning across both print and digital channels.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to technically review and creatively direct video content, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with Canterbury's brand and messaging.
- Experience managing a content production workflow and using platforms like Monday.com.
- Proven experience supporting staff with content development and editorial refinement.
- Strong project and time management skills across multiple concurrent priorities.
Essential Qualifications
- Current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in communications, journalism, PR, or related roles.
