Job Summary

We are seeking a Protection Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing protection systems that safeguard our assets and the communities we serve.

This position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and microgrids.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and Support Protection Systems: Develop and maintain protection schemes to ensure safe fault clearance across the network.
  • Expert Advice and Guidance: Provide expert advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate protection schemes with TransGrid, HV customers, and power authorities.
  • Setting Management: Manage protection settings in line with ISO 55001.
  • Mentorship and Team Collaboration: Mentor peers and contribute to a strong safety culture.

You will be part of a team embedded within System Operations, giving you a unique operational lens on protection engineering. Your work will directly contribute to our Decarbonising the Grid 2035 strategy.
