Education Specialist for Reconciliation Programs

We are seeking an experienced adult educator with a passion for history and a commitment to reconciliation to join our team as a Training Presenter, Impact Programs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the History Trust's Impact training programs to ensure their relevance, influence, and informativeness. These programs address key issues in First Nations and contact history, dispossession of First Nations people, and reconciliation.
The role involves modeling best-practice teaching in an adult education environment, providing effective feedback and appraisal mechanisms, collaborating with other team members, engaging in professional learning opportunities, and maintaining subject matter expertise.
In addition, the candidate will contribute to the development of the training program through proactive participation in regular meetings, planning activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and project teams.
Key components of the role include:
- Delivering impactful and informative training programs that consider sensitivity of content and participants' own knowledge and experience;
- Providing feedback and appraisal mechanisms to measure participant education and engagement;
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure the program meets educational and cultural needs;
- Maintaining subject matter expertise through ongoing research and consultation;
About you:
The successful candidate will have recognised competency-based training or teaching qualifications, including training and assessment, and a strong commitment to reconciliation.
Special Conditions:
This role may require some out-of-hours work and weekend work. A satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check is required, along with the ability to engage in intrastate and interstate travel.
A current driver's licence is desirable.
Estimated salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
