Electrical and Controls Engineering Leadership Role

The Electrical and Controls Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the team in achieving long-term asset safety, reliability, and availability. The manager will ensure that designs, procurement, and repairs meet these goals.

Establishing and maintaining a constructive culture in the team is essential. The manager must demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviours, techniques, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set performance measures and plans to improve the performance of direct reports and support the team and their individual growth.
  • Identify and anticipate project-related business risks to ensure appropriate controls are implemented and maintained throughout the project life cycle.
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers and Outage/Site Managers as a major stakeholder monitor the Asset Reliability.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on team productivity and issues arising in a proactive and timely manner, providing control strategies where required.

Requirements:

  • An electrical engineering degree satisfying the eligibility requirements for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiating skills applicable to varying levels of seniority.
  • A minimum 15 years experience in managing large-scale, complex, high-risk, varying, or multiple electrical and control system replacement or repair projects.
