Ministry Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive Children, Youth and Families Ministry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Corp Officer and be responsible for undertaking pastoral care and discipleship activities as guided by the Corps Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake pastoral care and discipleship activities as guided by the Corps Officer.
  • SUPPORT THE CORPS OFFICER IN SETTING THE VISION, MISSION AND STRATEGIES OF THE CORPS IN RELATION TO YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILIES.
  • IDENTIFY CURRENT AND EMERGING LEADERS TO COACH AND EQUIP FOR THE MINISTRY.
  • CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL CHILDREN TO BE INVOLVED IN DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAMS.
  • RUN SAFEGUARD TRAINING FOR CORPS LEADERS EACH YEAR.
  • ASSIST CORPS OFFICER WITH RESEARCH AND PREPARATION FOR SERMONS AND OTHER PRESENTATIONS.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Pastoral Care, Theology, Ministry or significant demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Active involvement in church ministries.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
  • Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
