Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Youth Development and Support Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and resilience of young people aged 12 - 25 years and their families through the design, establishment, and delivery of inclusive, adaptable, and accessible programs.

The role involves developing, delivering, and evaluating a range of youth events, youth leadership and awards programs, school engagements, consultations and contribution to strategic plans and service delivery.

This position requires a proactive and innovative individual who can network and build rapport with local businesses, schools, organisations, and community groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate a range of youth engagement programs and events initiatives that address engagement and support of young people across the municipality.
  • Undertake and be accountable for engagement administrative tasks, including the development of program/event proposals and evaluations, event management plans, maintaining accurate records and statistical information.
  • Support strategic partnerships by representing the needs of local young people on networks and committees as required and advocate on youth issues with key sectors of the community. This includes engaging with community groups, service providers and schools to promote awareness of the Youth Development and Support Services available for young people and their families.
  • Assist with preparation of reports for stakeholders.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Development and Welfare or a related discipline with some experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, facilitation and evaluation of a wide range of programs and engagement activities for young people.
  • Proven ability to engage young people and motivate and encourage active youth participation.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing projects and achieving outcomes.
  • Hold a current driver's licence.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children Check.
