About The Opportunity:

Programmed Facility Management, a leading provider of asset management and facilities maintenance services, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to join their Minesite Village Management Team in Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to be part of an essential team providing soft services such as village management, catering, transport, cleaning, and utility services to a well-known mining company.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and menu planning, preparation, and presentation for residents of the village. This role requires maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards, managing inventory, stock, and budgets, and adapting recipes, presentations, and cooking techniques suitable for FIFO kitchen environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety practices in line with HACCP guidelines
  • Produce high-quality, nutritious, and visually appealing meals
  • Design and implement continuous menu improvements
  • Effectively manage kitchen operations and logistics, including stock control
  • Prepare and manage food budgets
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and support to staff within the kitchen

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Head Chef in mass catering environments, preferably in minesite villages
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification
  • Australian working rights
  • Valid C-class driver's license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical screening and instant drug testing
  • Current National Police Check
  • First aid skills (desirable)
