About the Opportunity

Infinite Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Developer–Python for our esteemed Federal Government Client. This 12 months contract offers a 6 months option to extend based on funding and approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Python applications for a Linux environment, preferably using Redhat.
  • Collaborating with a team that utilizes Agile methods and test-driven development.
  • Reporting to the Technical Lead and assisting in developing Python applications.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing Python applications for a Linux environment.
  • Experience with scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
  • Proficiency in Python 3 and Python 2.7, with a willingness to work with Python 2.7.
  • Understanding of science requirements and/or complex systems and implementing them in Python.
  • Able to reimplement complex code from C++ to Python (desired but not essential).
  • Experience in Test driven development.
  • Familiarity with modern collaborative software development practices including automated testing and deployment, version control (Git preferred), code reviews, agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven record of working efficiently both independently and as part of a small team.

Contract Details:

  • Initial term: 12 months.
  • Extension: 6 months extension option.
  • Clearance: Australian Citizens with ability to obtain Baseline clearance.

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience and location in VIC. Infinite Consulting is committed to providing a competitive compensation package and benefits to its employees.
