This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Claims Executive at Marsh McLennan. The role is based in Sydney and requires a hybrid approach, with at least three days of in-office work per week.
Key Responsibilities- The successful candidate will proactively manage a diverse portfolio of strata and homeowner claims, with exposure to other lines of business including healthcare and liability claims.
- They will oversee the entire claims process, delivering exceptional service by thoroughly evaluating claims to determine policy coverage and negotiating favorable outcomes for insurer clients.
- Collaboration with clients, repairers, assessors, and other external stakeholders, including insurers, is essential to maintaining excellent working relationships and protecting client interests.
- The ideal candidate will identify and escalate suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims for internal review and investigation.
- They will provide relevant information and feedback on claims and developing trends to underwriters/risk assessors.
- End-to-end management of insurance claims pursuant to GICOP requirements and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards is crucial.
- The successful candidate will interpret and make decisions on policy terms, conditions, and exclusions up to Delegated Authority amounts; escalating and working with senior staff on difficult or complex claims to secure the best outcome.
- Responding to enquiries within Risksmart service-level agreements (SLAs) and maintaining professional, accurate information flow to claims stakeholders is essential.
- Maintaining knowledge of insurance guidelines, court/AFCA decisions impacting claims, and policy changes is vital.
- Attending relevant product and skills courses, sharing knowledge with staff, and contributing to process improvements is also important.
- Providing regular status updates and timely information/advice to clients; liaising with insurers to settle claims cost-effectively and managing claims data and reporting in line with SLAs is required.
- Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of experience in insurance.
- Experience working to deadlines (including GICOP) and within SLA timeframes is essential.
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes is necessary.
