About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Specialist to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our cyber security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Documentation and Artefacts: Proactively review, assess, update, and prepare security documentation and associated artefacts to ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks and standards.
  • Security Control Validation: Validate and verify security controls and their effectiveness against the Australian Government ISM, Essential 8, NIST, and other approved cyber security frameworks and standard designs.
  • Security Auditing and Compliance: Conduct security and compliance auditing to identify and mitigate potential security risks and ensure adherence to relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Gap Analysis and Risk Management: Conduct gap analysis and risk management to identify and mitigate potential security risks and ensure the security and integrity of our systems and environments.
  • Evidence Collection and Reporting: Collect and document evidence to support security assessments and reporting.
  • Cyber Security Advice and Guidance: Provide expert cyber security advice and guidance to stakeholders through excellent written and verbal communication methods.
  • Cyber Security Governance and Compliance: Apply cyber security governance, risk, and compliance principles and concepts to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and environments.
  • Outcome-Focused Security Assessment Workshops: Facilitate outcome-focused security assessment workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Documentation and Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records of security assessments and related activities.
Requirements
  • NV2 Australian Government Security Clearance: Hold and maintain an NV-2 Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience and Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in a similar role, coupled with relevant education and/or practical experience.
  • Security Certification and Experience: Experience in conducting security certification and accreditation activities, risk management, and completing risk assessments.
  • Security Frameworks and Standards: Familiarity with security frameworks used to facilitate the authorisation to operate, such as the Australian Government ISM and Essential 8.
  • Certification and Training: Certification such as CRISC, CISM, CISA, CISSP, ISO27001, or similar, and experience working with Defence is desirable.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail and Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and sound organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
