We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Cyber Security Operations team at the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in protecting Australia and Australians from cyber threats.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, where you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in cyber security operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, managed service providers, and domestic and international partners to build and maintain robust cyber security detection and response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in cyber security operations.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and provide current advice on emerging threat intelligence.
- Develop strategies to detect and mitigate current and emerging cyber security threats.
- Oversee and lead Threat Hunt and Incident Response activities.
- Work with the Engineering team to design and deliver technical solutions to enhance cyber security monitoring requirements.
- Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and domestic and international partners to enhance ASIO's information technology security posture and capabilities.
- Experience working in a cyber security operations centre.
- Experience with security tooling such as SIEM tools (preferably Splunk and/or Sentinel).
- Relevant qualifications in cyber security (e.g. SANS GIAC certifications, CISSIP, CISM).
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and technologies.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to lead delivery outcomes.
- Strong security awareness and risk management skills.
- A competitive salary, including a 7.5 per cent allowance for maintaining a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.

These positions are located in Canberra, ACT & Sydney, NSW and applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires you to relocate.
