Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a member of our community, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.

About the Role

This is a full-time position located in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and appropriate Missouri Special Education Certification. Experience teaching special education in middle school grades is also desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Develop curriculum maps, lessons, and units of study that meet or exceed requirements of Missouri Learning Standards.
  • Ongoing assessment of student progress and achievement using a variety of means to collect and report on academic data.
  • Use data to tailor instruction to meet individual student academic and social needs.
  • Lead the design of comprehensive assessment and individual education plans for students with severe disabilities.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred).
  • Appropriate Missouri Special Education Certification.
  • Experience teaching special education in middle school grades (minimum two years preferred).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and colleagues.
