Senior Leadership and Operations Manager

The E&R Service Delivery Manager will work independently, under broad direction, to deliver on the Bureau's strategic objectives. This role contributes to the delivery of services by planning, leading, and coordinating the E&R Lead Operational Meteorologist group to steer and foster the quality and resilience of the Bureau's national operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop the ongoing professional development of E&R Operational Meteorologists through mentoring, performance management and training.
- Coordinate studies and investigations into weather-related events, and through close liaison with relevant professional and technical staff, seek improvements in forecast process, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Coordinate and participate in the design, development and implementation of projects aimed at improving procedures, products and services and incorporating research and development into operations.
- Maintain and promote close liaison with the E&R customers and the energy and resources sectors, keeping informed of the latest developments.
- A degree or diploma from an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties.
- Merit pool The selection process will establish a merit pool that may be used to fill similar positions within 18 months.
Beyond these core responsibilities, you will contribute to the Bureau's overall success by maintaining open communication with internal stakeholders, adapting to new challenges and opportunities, and supporting cross-functional teams.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
