Payroll Team Leader Opportunity
">Payroll Services sits within the Business Services Branch, which is a multifaceted unit. The AFP Payroll Services team delivers fortnightly pays to over 8,000 employees using SAP. We operate in a complex and fast-paced environment with no dull moments.
">The administration of conditions of service and entitlements for AFP employees is our core work. This involves processing pay, leave, and superannuation as well as the ongoing improvement of systems and processes to provide high-quality, accurate, and timely services to the AFP and its members.
">Key Responsibilities">- ">
- Lead a small team in Payroll Services to deliver sound pay outcomes for AFP employees.">
- Manage capability, capacity, and resources to ensure efficient and high-quality outcomes.">
- Develop people, manage change, influence behaviors to maintain a supportive culture respecting individual talent, perspective, and value.">
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement in practices, systems, and processes.">
- Build and maintain professional relationships in the team and with external stakeholders.">
- Support team members in building their ability to prioritize and work effectively as a team.">
- Interpret and apply the AFP's Enterprise Agreements, relevant legislation, and governance to provide direction and advice on complex queries.">
- Regularly engage with key stakeholders.">
- Deliver on agreed outputs and outcomes to projects and activities.">
- Be open to constructive feedback and value differing opinions and ideas.">
- Convey messages effectively and sensitively across multiple audiences.">

- Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or ability to obtain one">
- Contemporary Payroll and/or Human Resources experience">
- Demonstrated leadership experience – Minimum 3 years">
- Experience with Payroll Systems such as SAP or similar">
- Problem-solving / analytical skills">

- Undertake general administrative duties associated with payroll activities">
