Project Manager Role

As a seasoned Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of a mining processing infrastructure project at an overseas mine.

This project requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure successful delivery. You will work closely with the Tailings Manager and be responsible for project planning, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, risk management, site mobilization, and construction management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed construction schedules using MS Project and/or Deswik, ensuring alignment with embankment raise milestones.
  • Managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and analyzing cost variances, with experience in forecasting and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supervising embankment construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing and presenting progress reports, dashboards, and risk assessments to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating contractors and suppliers, and fostering collaboration between site operations and technical teams.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Significant experience in mining-related construction, managing tailings, water dams, or bulk earthworks projects.
  • Overseas project experience is highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.

Australian candidates are preferred, and the selected individual must have the right to work in Australia.
