Heavy Mining Equipment Technician

The Anglo American De Beers Group is seeking an experienced HV Electrician to join our team at the Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment, including Draglines, Electric Rope Shovels, Hydraulic Excavators, and diesel Overburden Drill fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repair of HME workshop equipment.
  • Provide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge and expertise to minimise downtime of HME equipment.
  • Ensure high levels of housekeeping and accurate record keeping wherever work is carried out.
  • Diagnose faults and effect repairs to electrical equipment & field devices.
  • Conduct electrical inspections of open-cut electrical equipment and/or fixed plant electrical systems.
Requirements
  • QLD Electrical License and relevant Electrical Trade Certification
  • A Manual C-Class Australian Driver's License
  • Experience and knowledge in PLC controlled equipment and systems
  • HV Switching qualification is desirable

As a Heavy Mining Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mining equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, identifying and fixing technical issues, and collaborating with other teams to achieve our goals.
