We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Violence Specialist to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing a specialist response to high-risk cases of family violence identified through Victoria Police.
Embedded within Victoria Police's Family Violence Investigation Unit, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide intensive and holistic short-term interventions to men who have perpetrated family violence. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring clients receive non-judgmental, holistic support that demonstrates the values of The Salvation Army.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure clients receive comprehensive support and safety plans in coordination with the Alexis Family Violence Response Model Specialist and Victoria Police members
- Conduct intake and assessment, on-going risk assessments to inform and develop support plans
- Build effective working relationships with Victoria Police members and embed specialist family violence and perpetrator interventions across a multidisciplinary team
- Co-review and co-triage family violence incidences in Division 1, 2, or 5 alongside Victoria Police Family Violence Investigation Unit
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent
- Minimum of two years family violence service experience or in-depth understanding of family violence, its drivers, and feminist frameworks
- Current and Valid Employee Working With Children's Check
- Current Full Australian Driver's Licence
- Victoria Police Security Checks
