Why this role matters
The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.

About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our team You will be responsible for supporting both the Rapid Response and Case Management Teams through brief interventions, crisis responses, service planning and targeted interventions for women with children experiencing/or have experience family violence.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position (until September 2025), based in Windsor, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will successfully
- Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Support is provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
- Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
- Case plans are implemented and actively led by the participant
- Clients are assisted to access holistic support services and establish community connections

You will have
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent is essential
- Experience working in the Family Violence sector is desirable
- Experience in specialist family violence and/or child well-being work is highly desirable
- Demonstrated crisis response experience and skills
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision required
- Advanced computer skills including experience in data and record management
- A current and valid Working with Children's Check
- A Victorian Driver’s Licence
