Job Description

As a Data Centre Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our data centres. This includes ensuring that all hardware and network systems are operational, managing teams of technical professionals, and collaborating with other departments to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data centre technicians and operators
  • Guide, train, and educate data operations technicians on best practices related to service owner issues
  • Manage and deliver mid-size projects
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
  • Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
  • Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
  • Constantly improving all our processes and procedures
  • Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
  • Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local Health & Safety standards in all data centres
  • Creating and maintaining metrics of all aspects of data centres and utilizing those metrics to drive positive improvements
  • Assisting in implementing service methodologies that include incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 4+ years people management experience with direct reports in an IT related field
  • 4+ years experience in managing IT systems
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of change concepts, problem and incident management
