Program Manager, Curatorial and Collection Research

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Program Manager, Curatorial and Collection Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale national oral history projects, web archiving, and building and developing the National collection with a focus on contemporary Australian published output.

  • Develop comprehensive strategies for national oral history projects on Australia's response to COVID-19
  • Manage web archiving, oral history, and photographic commissions to ensure high-quality content
  • Enhance the National collection with an emphasis on contemporary Australian published output, leveraging research expertise and project management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of new oral history projects that meet the needs of our stakeholders
  • Collaborate with researchers and project managers to design and implement innovative solutions
  • Maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities and culturally diverse groups to ensure cultural competence in our work practices

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as curatorial studies, museum studies, or library science
  • Proven experience in collection management, research, and project management, with a track record of delivering high-quality results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of collection development principles and practices, with a commitment to innovation and excellence

Selection Process:

A selection panel will assess applications based on the key responsibilities and requirements outlined above. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in interviews and assessments.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position with a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Canberra office.
