We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Surface Finisher to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team at RAAF Base Williamstown.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and certifying ASURFIN tasks, including surface coating applications and aircraft markings in various environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as part of a team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Finishing: Conduct and certify ASURFIN tasks, including surface coating applications and aircraft markings in various environments.
  • Collaboration: Work with maintenance planning on aircraft servicing tasks.
  • Self-Certification: Certify completed tasks using the electronic maintenance system.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records for paint facility components.
  • Touch-Ups: Perform necessary paint touch-ups on unit vehicles.
  • Task Completion: Execute surface finisher tasks.
  • Inventory Management: Order and manage supplies for surface finisher tasks.
  • Safety Standards: Uphold WHS practices in the paint shop and report issues.
  • Training: Supervise and train junior technicians in surface finishing.
  • Documentation: Keep records of non-aircraft tasks in the paint shop.
  • Facility Management: Oversee the SURFIN operations.
">Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Certificate III in Aeroskills (Surface Finishing)
  • Class C driver's license
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a BASELINE clearance
  • Security Clearance: You must complete the vetting process for a government security clearance (BASELINE) sponsored by your employer
