We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design and implementation of our Coles Group Design System. As a key member of our Digital team, you'll oversee the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of all UI components, rules, and documentation, ensuring consistency and quality across our platforms.
As a visionary designer, you'll contribute to our front-end code base using React and JavaScript, with Swift or Java knowledge being a valuable plus. Your expertise in creating and maintaining UI components, design rules, and documentation will enable you to drive cohesive design processes and deliver superior design solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Design System Development: Drive the creation and implementation of scalable Design Systems that support various e-commerce product teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and other stakeholders to create a unified and effective design process.
- UI Parts & Documentation: Develop and maintain UI components, design rules, and documentation to ensure a cohesive and high-quality customer experience across multiple touchpoints.
- Advocate for Best Practices: Champion best practices in atomic design and user experience to deliver superior design solutions.
- Technical Insight: Contribute to technical decisions regarding the Design System, advocate for smart front-end implementations, and collaborate effectively with tech leads and development leads.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and team members on best practices and Design Systems usage.
- Extensive experience leading the design and implementation of scalable Design Systems for e-commerce platforms.
- Strong collaborative skills with Engineering, Product Management, and other stakeholders to drive cohesive design processes.
- Expertise in creating and maintaining UI components, design rules, and documentation for a unified customer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for atomic design principles and high-quality user experiences.
- Experience in influencing technical decisions and working effectively with tech and development leads.
- Prior experience in Retail and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environments is highly favourable.
