Job Summary

This role involves providing mechanical maintenance and repair services to heavy diesel products. Key responsibilities include diagnosing engine problems, performing engine rebuilding and reconditioning, and maintaining work areas for cleanliness and proper operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair engines
  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products
  • Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
  • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
Critical Competencies
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champions proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying and participating in actions to improve health and safety.
  • Diagnostics Application: Translates customer complaints into troubleshooting plans; troubleshoots issues using guided workflows and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components.
  • Electronic Service Tool Application: Identifies hardware and software tools required for service events; utilizes electronic tool sets to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Engine Systems Interactions: Analyzes internal and external electrical and mechanical systems by applying tools and service publications.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance: Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines and standard repair times.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent qualification
  • BASIC level of workshop or field service experience required
  • BASIC level knowledge of engine products and heavy vehicle experience preferred
