Urban Planning Opportunity

This role presents a chance to contribute to shaping a vibrant, attractive, and liveable city that the community values and enjoys.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to prepare planning proposals for major precincts, engage with the community, and provide expert advice on planning and design policy.

  • Assess and evaluate major development, planning proposals, and State Significant Development proposals.
  • Contribute to and update Council's planning and design policy.
  • Review and update Council's planning framework.
  • Prepare reports, provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate input from specialist consultants.

Candidates are expected to possess a degree in Urban/Town Planning or a related field and have experience in preparing and negotiating planning agreements, town planning, and preparation of development control plans.

They must also be competent in preparing and giving presentations to internal and external stakeholders, taking meeting minutes, and other administrative tasks expected from the role.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about urban planning, have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and be motivated to deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.

This is a contract position offering a 35-hour work week and flexible work-from-home arrangement. The initial contract period is 12 months, with opportunities for extension.
