SMSF Accountant Job Summary

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our team in Brisbane on a full-time, permanent basis.

As an Accountant, you will provide professional compliance and accounting services for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), working closely with Business Services and Private Wealth Advisors to deliver holistic wealth solutions.

  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, annual returns, BAS, IAS, GST Returns, and other essential compliance documents for SMSF clients
  • Support SMSF transactions by compiling accurate information
  • Identify potential accounting and compliance issues, ensuring legislative compliance is maintained
  • Monitor client dealings with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
  • Draft correspondence and communicate effectively with clients

Key Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), with 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong relationship-building skills to facilitate seamless liaison across teams
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to drive business growth
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet client demands efficiently
  • Teamwork skills and a desire to develop both technical and soft skills
