Job Description

Our organisation is committed to delivering high-quality care and support services to older Australians. To achieve this, we are seeking a qualified and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team.

This role involves working with clients across the Perth metropolitan area, providing personal care, assistance with daily living tasks, and promoting independence and freedom of choice.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work autonomously, and demonstrate empathy and understanding towards older people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks
  • Assist clients with shopping, meal preparation, and transportation
  • Carry out domestic tasks to ensure client's home environment remains clean and organized
  • Support clients socially and domestically while creating a positive rapport
  • Encourage and promote independence and freedom of choice
  • Support with extended respite services when needed

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support Aged Care or equivalent (essential)
  • Previous experience working in Community Aged Care (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with access to own vehicle
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understand their needs
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment)
  • Up-to-date with COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
