Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Communications Strategist to drive collaboration across teams and deliver integrated, high-impact communications.


About The Role

This strategic position will work closely with senior leaders and executives to ensure alignment across media platforms.


The successful candidate will have a strong focus on traditional media, protecting the city's reputation by delivering effective and accessible communications on council issues, policies, and initiatives.


In a fast-paced environment, you'll provide expert advice to senior leaders, councillors, and stakeholders.


You'll contribute to the delivery of timely, accurate, and high-quality communications, working across all portfolios to support proactive and reactive advice.


Key Responsibilities

  • To build relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, or equivalent experience
  • A proven track record in managing complex issues and developing strategies
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
