The role of Senior Financial Strategist is pivotal to the success of our organisation. This key position will be responsible for leading financial strategy, overseeing finance and payroll operations, and managing outsourced IT providers to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth.
As a Senior Financial Strategist, you will lead the finance functions, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and effective cash flow and investment management. You will also oversee payroll operations, understanding employment legislation and modern awards, as well as drive finance transformation through system upgrades and automation.
You will review contracts, support tender pricing, and oversee client reporting, while managing relationships with outsourced IT providers to ensure secure, scalable service delivery. Additionally, you will lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement, and represent the organisation in high-level negotiations and communications with external stakeholders.
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a CA/CPA qualification and tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business. The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years' experience in senior finance leadership roles, with experience in recruitment, labour hire, or professional services. They should also possess knowledge of payroll and information systems, as well as experience in governance, compliance, and risk management.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for this role, as well as a proven ability to lead teams, drive improvements, and manage change. About the Role:
- Lead the finance functions, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and effective cash flow and investment management.
- Ensure compliance with financial, tax, audit, and payroll obligations, supported by strong internal controls.
- Oversee payroll operations understanding employment legislation and modern awards.
- Drive finance transformation, including system upgrades and automation.

- Manage outsourced IT provider relationships and ensure secure, scalable service delivery.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

About You:
- CA/CPA qualification with tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business.
- 7–10+ years' experience in senior finance leadership roles.
- Experience in recruitment, labour hire, or professional services.
- Knowledge of payroll and information systems.
- Experience in governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
