This critical laboratory role involves ensuring operational excellence through quality management system compliance, administrative support and internal auditing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Laboratory Assurance Program tasks to drive technical and operational laboratory management
  • Manage assurance program requirements and administrative activities for efficient laboratory operations and objective delivery
  • Communicate, collaborate, report and undertake activities relating to laboratory equipment maintenance schedule, calibration, servicing and repair
  • Contribute to document preparation, such as reports, instructional material, forms and document reviews
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry associations and stakeholders on assurance matters
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of biosecurity specimen reference collections as required
  • Undertake training, internal auditing, verification, inspection and reporting of laboratory activities and quality management system processes as required
  • Implement systems improvement initiatives, including a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Develop expertise in professional skills
  • Manage time to provide an efficient service that meets client expectations within a regulatory environment

Requirements:

  • Well-developed quality management system expertise, administrative support and project management experience
  • Ability to think laterally, solve problems and implement innovative solutions under limited supervision
  • Effective communication and task completion within a team with competing priorities and varying stakeholder engagement
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture or biological science and/or formal certifications in quality management system awareness or project management
