Job Opportunity

A significant role exists for a Financial Support Assistant to provide accounts payable and financial services in a collaborative environment.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will have experience in finance or accounting roles, particularly in accounts payable. You will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing fluctuating workloads. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and confidence in using financial systems are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and code invoices ensuring correct approval direction
  • Manage accounts payable services to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Perform quality control checks including reconciling supplier statements and following up on outstanding invoices
  • Handle accounts payable enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support travel allowance payments and other financial administration tasks
  • Contribute to team-based finance activities and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience providing accounting or finance support, particularly in accounts payable
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Objective, Basware (or similar), and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general accounting practices
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Awareness of WHS obligations EEO principles and public sector standards
