Key Responsibilities

  • We require a skilled Finance Assistant who can perform timely, effective and efficient bookkeeping functions such as bank and general ledger reconciliations, billing of clients and collection of accounts receivables;
  • This individual will build strong relationships with management team to understand strategic goals and provide financial insights and guidance to support decision-making;
  • The ideal candidate will ensure accounting policies and procedures are compliant with applicable accounting standards and regulations;
  • Collaborate with business teams to develop key performance indicators, track progress, and provide regular updates to the leadership team;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and presentations to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making;
  • Review, prepare and process the fortnightly payroll and staff reimbursements;
  • Manage and reconcile Clients funds held
  • Lodge monthly BAS,IAS, Payroll tax, workcover and other statutory requirements

Experience and Qualification:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • Experience with Xero Accounting Software or similar systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills; advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and commercial acumen to apply practically in a growing environment
  • Display practical application of this knowledge in bringing control and process improvement to finance function processes
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and conceptual skills and experience in implementing change across the organisation

Desirable:

  • Able to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Financial accounting background preferably in healthcare or community services sector
