About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at the Housing Industry Association. As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in providing innovative and supportive advisory services to members of the Victorian and Tasmanian housing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and information to stakeholders on town planning, land development, and environmental issues.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of HIA policies through a range of member services, lobbying, and submissions.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including members, regional management, and government agencies, to advance the interests of the housing industry.
  • Research and develop personal knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Produce relevant and informative content for Committees as directed by Victorian/Tasmanian Regional Executive Directors and the Executive Director – Planning & Development.
Requirements
  • Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • Sound understanding of the housing industry, with specific experience in the multi-residential market and land developments.
  • Excellent organisational ability and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills, with the ability to handle key relationships.
  • Well-developed research and report writing skills.
  • Highly computer literate and capable with online research tools and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
