
Support Specialist for Trauma Recovery

Our organisation is seeking a skilled and compassionate crisis counsellor to provide vital support to women who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, grief, and loss.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide face-to-face and telephone counselling services to individuals presenting with grief, trauma, identity, relationship, parenting, drug and alcohol, domestic violence, and mental health issues.
- Engage clients using strengths-based assessments and risk minimisation processes, including safety planning.
- Develop and implement multimodal interventions from a person-centred approach to enhance resilience and well-being in women and their families.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of experience in counselling, preferably in crisis counselling capacity.
- Ability to respond effectively to clients in crisis and identify potential referrals that meet their needs.
- Clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to balance competing demands.
