Job Title: Intake Crisis Counsellor

Our organisation is seeking a skilled and compassionate crisis counsellor to provide vital support to women who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, grief, and loss.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide face-to-face and telephone counselling services to individuals presenting with grief, trauma, identity, relationship, parenting, drug and alcohol, domestic violence, and mental health issues.
  • Engage clients using strengths-based assessments and risk minimisation processes, including safety planning.
  • Develop and implement multimodal interventions from a person-centred approach to enhance resilience and well-being in women and their families.

Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in counselling, preferably in crisis counselling capacity.
  • Ability to respond effectively to clients in crisis and identify potential referrals that meet their needs.
  • Clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to balance competing demands.
