Your new role

The GIS Consultant role entails direct consulting and engagement with Woolpert's clientele, both on-site and remotely. This position is technical and consultative, working alongside a talented team of Geospatial Specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions and products for prominent geospatial projects nationwide. You will leverage the latest software and technology to create innovative workflow solutions. Experience in technical or business documentation is essential, as is the ability to liaise with clients and deliver results within the defined scope, quality, time, and budget constraints.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a comprehensive range of geospatial consulting services, including deployment, configuration, and support for Geocortex/VertiGIS and the Esri ArcGIS suite of products.
  • Engaging in activities such as server/network administration, application deployment, configuration, testing, demonstration, documentation, and training.
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Undertaking domestic travel as necessary.

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you should possess prior experience in a similar capacity, along with:

  • Familiarity with Web GIS technologies, particularly Geocortex/VertiGIS and Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and related applications.
  • A proven track record of being self-sufficient, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Significant experience with geospatial technologies, including Esri ArcGIS and/or Open-Source geospatial products, enterprise IT environments, and cloud computing technologies.
  • Experience in IT management methodologies such as Agile, Lean, and familiarity with software development tools like Jira, Github, and Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with programming/scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, C#) will be advantageous.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in computing science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Geomatics sciences.
  • A minimum of three years of consulting, analyst, and/or business analysis experience in a related field.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Must possess current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
