Your new role
The GIS Consultant role encompasses direct consulting and engagement with Woolpert's clients, both remotely and on-site. This technical and consultative position will collaborate with a growing team of skilled Geospatial Specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions and products for prominent geospatial projects nationwide. You will leverage cutting-edge software and technology to develop innovative workflow solutions. Your experience in technical or business documentation will be crucial as you liaise with clients to achieve outcomes within defined scope, quality, time, and budget constraints.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a comprehensive range of geospatial consulting services, including deployment, configuration, and support for Geocortex/VertiGIS and the Esri ArcGIS suite of products.
- Engaging in activities such as server/network administration, application deployment, configuration, testing, demonstration, documentation, and training.
- Ensuring the quality of deliverables and addressing any issues that arise.
- Undertaking domestic travel as necessary.
What we're looking for
To excel in this role, you should possess prior experience in a similar capacity, along with:
- Familiarity with Web GIS technologies, particularly Geocortex/VertiGIS and Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and related applications.
- A proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Significant experience with geospatial technologies, including Esri ArcGIS and/or Open-Source geospatial products, as well as enterprise IT environments and cloud computing technologies.
- Experience in IT management processes such as Agile, Lean, and familiarity with software development tools like Jira, Github, and Jenkins.
- Practical knowledge and experience with programming/scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, C#) will be advantageous.

Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in computing science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Geomatics sciences.
- A minimum of three years of consulting, analyst, and/or business analysis experience in a related field.
- National Police Clearance.
- Must possess current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
