Casual Lifeguard Position

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a casual lifeguard.

As a casual lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our patrons while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake lifeguard duties, including surveillance of water activities, rescue, and first aid treatment.
  • Supervise patrons to maximise customer safety and enjoyment.
  • Facilitate facility presentation, including setup and pack away of equipment and cleaning of aquatic centre areas.
  • Adhere to Council's policies and procedures.
  • Deliver effective customer service to all patrons and assist in program coordination.
  • Assist in pool operations and maintenance, as well as preparation of facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security standards within the centre.
  • Participate in in-house training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintain currency of qualifications relevant to the position.
  • Complete additional duties as required with consultation from the Aquatics Supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Current First Aid Certificate or proof of enrolment in course.
  2. Current Pool Lifeguard Licence or proof of enrolment in course.
  3. NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
  4. Aquatic Management Certificate (Desirable).
  5. Current Pool Operations Certificate (Desirable).
  6. Highly motivated and committed to WH&S requirements.

In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccinations.

This position is subject to NSW Child Protection Legislation. Candidates must provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC) number for verification purposes.
