Empowering Justice for All: A Supportive Role

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of judicial, quasi-judicial, and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal.

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria.

The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year.

Your Impact

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the justice system by providing practical and procedural information and support to self-represented litigants in navigating court procedures.

You will work closely with judges, judicial registrars, division lawyers, and the Common Law Registry team to support and actively manage proceedings involving self-represented litigants.

Duties include:

  • Developing systems to effectively manage self-represented litigant demands for the division
  • Designing and delivering training programs to enhance the capabilities of registrars to respond effectively to self-represented litigants
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve access to justice
  • Leveraging continuous improvement initiatives to drive evidence-based solutions
  • Enhancing information and educational resources for self-represented litigants, including developing inclusive and accessible materials

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a passion for providing access to justice and enjoy working with diverse individuals from various backgrounds.

Highly developed analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritize your work and perform under pressure.
