Job Title: Experienced IT Professional

This position offers the opportunity to work with a leading organisation in implementing, managing and retiring infrastructure that supports digital services.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of specific ICT platforms and provide expert advice on their management and maintenance. They will work closely with key third-party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust gateway infrastructure capability for the business.

The role involves exercising considerable independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate infrastructure requirements to meet future demand
  • Provide technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities
  • Prepare, review and maintain documentation including design documentation, implementation plans, test plans and support procedures
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiatives
  • Participate in change management processes and communicate end-to-end implications of configuration changes
  • Provide detailed specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, managing and maintaining internet gateway and/or large scale data centre networking environments
  • Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure, including Cisco Data Centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Nexus switches and routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions, VPN technologies, email and DNS solutions and hybrid and public cloud services
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining system architecture and design documentation
  • Demonstrated experience with Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight
Requirements:
  • Mid-senior level experience in IT infrastructure management
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
