About Uniting Irwin Hall

Uniting Irwin Hall, located in Mayfield, is a serene and joyful aged care residence that fosters a thriving community for its 38 residents. Our mission is to ensure that every individual enjoys meaningful and fulfilling experiences.

Role Overview

This position requires working from Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 3:30pm, where you will serve as a caregiver while also supporting the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator.

  • Enhancing residents' quality of life by creating and facilitating engaging activities and environments.
  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive approach to community involvement that caters to the unique needs of each resident, both within the facility and in the broader community.
  • Building and nurturing relationships within the local community to promote opportunities for active ageing.
  • Ensuring effective and respectful communication while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of each resident.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Essential qualifications in Individual Support or a related field.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Deep understanding of what constitutes meaningful engagement for residents.
  • Strong knowledge of community engagement and inclusion practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster partnerships with various stakeholders.
  • Solid grasp of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to introduce new ideas and concepts.

What We Seek

  • Insight into the health, social, or aged care sectors.
  • Experience in aged care, community services, or the leisure/lifestyle industry.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with others.
  • Team-oriented with confidence in decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using electronic communication tools and documentation systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Current First Aid certification.
