Compliance Assurance Specialist

This Compliance Assurance Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to join our organization in Sydney (Hybrid).

The position is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension and pays competitively.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the effective implementation of compliance management frameworks, risk management frameworks, and broader risk and governance policies across the business.
  • Undertaking key control testing and reporting on design and operating effectiveness of the control framework.
  • Supporting the business to identify key controls and implement testing plans to identify control gaps and weaknesses.
  • Providing other assurance activities, including quality assurance over Line 1 Control Self-Assessment testing and annual attestations.
  • Undertaking risk-based deep dives on high-risk areas to assess the strength of the control framework.
  • Developing relationships with staff and risk coordinators to influence and foster a compliance culture.
  • Engaging with and fostering internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure effective engagement with the organization's risk and governance strategy, appetite, and tolerances.

Selection criteria includes experience in conducting assessments over risk and compliance activities, as well as desirable skills such as understanding of financial services industry or government entities and ability to work autonomously to deliver assignments and initiatives on time.
